Here we discuss rooting Nexus tablet 7 with Mac

1^st step

Download “One-click unlock bootloader toolkit” and “2012 nexus 7 root toolkit”

·       unzip and save them in the folder on the desk top in your PC.

·       As well as download and save the updated “SuperSu” zip file in the same folder.

2^nd step

Backup your nexus 7device. This toolkit doesn’t have a backup option like windows method.

3^rd step

Enable USB Debugging on your device, before you connect your nexus 7 in to the Mac,

Settings-> Developer option->USB debugging

If you can’t find Developer option on your device, Don’t worry go to 

Settings->About device tap on seven times on build number, 

then you will see toast popup window about developer option.

4^th Step

Connect your nexus device in to Mac and remove other USB devices from the Mac if available. It is advisable to use the USB cable came with your device.

5^th Step

Now you want to enter fast boot mode in your device. First shut down your device and press power button and volume down button at the same time. It will bring up fast boot in your device.

6^th Step

Open unlock bootloader folder in the folder that you created earlier. And click on the green icon tool. This will wipe your tool. You must backup your device before start this.

A terminal will popup with easy follow instructions. Just press enter and let the program complete its course.

During this process you have to see your nexus 7 reboot back into fast boot at some points, When this happens you should see the “LOCK STATE” as unlocked now. As well as you have to confirm terminal window that the boot loader is unlocked.

7^th Step

After unlocking  the boot loader press the volume key until you see the “Start” Then press the power key to boot the system. Make sure USB debugging is still checked. Now reboot the back in to the boot loader.

8^th Step

Now put the device back in to the fast boot mode. The go back to nexus folder in your Mac and select nexus root folder. Open that folder ,you will see green color setup file titled “Root.nexus.7”. Run it.

Another terminal window will popup. By pressing enter initiate the root process.

During this process you will see this massage

Ready to install CWM

Enter 1 then press enter

Just follow above instructions.

This will send CWM over to your device.

9^th Step

Find the Recovery mode option by using volume rocker. Select the recovery mode using power button.

You will be told to do following activities in the terminal window when you are CWM recovery.

1. Select install

2. Choose zip from SD cad

3. Choose the 0/ directry

4. Choose Update SuperSu-v1.80zip

5. Select “Yes”

Once you finished device will be rebooted. Now you device is rooted.

In some case If Update-SupeerSu. zip does not show in your custom recovery, You can fix it using android file transfer.

Select Root.nexus.7 folder and find the Update-SuperSu file

When your device running regally connect it via USB cable and open the Android file trance programme Drag and drop the file from your Mac to your device.

Go back in to fast boot. Select recovery mode again and follow above 5 steps.

Then reboot.

10^th Step

You can verify rooting your device using Root checker free app. Download the Root checker app from Google play store. Then open the app and select verify root. You will see the massage below.
